Greeting card assignment 【14.08.2013】

Our last assignment, is to make a set of 3 greeting card. In this assignment, we have to convince utilize all elements and principles of design that we have learnt throughout this semester. Our due date for this assignment is on the 21th of July, Wednesday. In this assignment, we can make our greeting card at a A5 size and we could make our own envelope too.

I have only a little time to make the greeting card as I have to went back Kuching for the reunion dinner of my secondary school during weekends. In this case, I manage my time so that I have time to finish all my work and I can also attend the reunion dinner.

Submission Day 【31.07.2013】

Today is our submission day for the assignment that we have work for the last few week. We were very busy the whole morning and afternoon to prepare our work so that we have the best outcome for our work.
The presentation started on 8pm. We have to move our work from the studio to the side of the pond.

Work In Progress 【Second week】

This week we are going to built out our pavilion. The materials of the pavilion are Styrofoam, mounting board, cotton string, mural color paint, butter paper, light bulb.

First, we combine the two rectangular Styrofoam which is 60cm X 120cm into a square of 120cm X 120cm. After that we are doing the supporter of the pavilion. We cut out 4 slice of styrofoam and we stick chopstick on it so that it become heavier.

On that time, we have already left one week before the presentation, we have run out of time, but we still have not built out the structure of the pavilion. Besides of this assignment, we still have many assignment that have to be submitted on the end of July, July is our most busy month. On 29th July, we have our English Listening Test and on 30th July, we have our English Presentation in the morning and we have the Hero Costume Presentation for Creative Thinking Skill in the afternoon.
We decided to stay back on 30th July to finish our pavilion as the lantern had already finished.

After we are crazy on doing our work, we play chinese new year song in the late midnight.

That night we stay at the studio until 3am in the morning. After that, we went back to our room and I have to continue doing the lantern that we design until 5am.

Work in Progress 【3 weeks】

Good afternoon everyone. Here is our progress of our pavilion and the lantern. The construction of the work is not as smooth as I think. We have difference opinion and we think in difference ways. Although sometime I felt that it is really unacceptable to have the reason for this, I also overcome all the stress and the opposition that others group members have.
As it is a group work, I have learn that, we have to have good time management as there are 6 of us in a group. It is not possible for you to be late for half and hour or one hour as we have decide to do our work on that time. Besides that, I have learn to be patience that not everyone can understand that what you are doing so we have to explain it for them. In this assignment , I have learnt many skills and I would try to pull myself further and work harder.

This is the process of doing the lantern.

First we have to cut out the mounting board into a frame in two difference size. 

First we cut out one frame and we use the inside part to cut the other frame so that we wont waste the mounting board.

Here we have about hundred pieces of frames.

Concentrating on cutting the mounting board.

A corner for all the material to make the lantern and the pavilion in my room.

The crepe paper is very pretty. There are difference color such as red, orange, yellow, pink, purple, green, light green, blue, and light blue.

Cutting the crepe paper according to the size of the frame. It spend me about one night to do it.

The next day, we are going to still the crepe paper on the frame.

Time to punch the lantern and tie it.

This is the lantern final outcome.

Now, we are going to built our pavilion.
