Composition【22.05.2013】

Today,I had finished my assignment and have to present it today in front of the class.I felt very nervous when my video are playing as I am the first one who present the video. This was because my name is started with the alphabet A. My video is about 3 minutes per person. Our tutorial started at 11 o'clock in the morning and we had to combine our final project in one computer and we will had a smooth presentation.
After the assignment, I understand the composition and the rule of third.

The rule of thirds is a guideline followed by some visual artists. The objective is to stop the subject(s) and areas of interest (such as the horizon) from bisecting the image, by placing them near one of the lines that would divide the image into three equal columns and rows, ideally near the intersection of those lines.

The rule of thirds is thought to be a simplification of the golden mean. The golden mean is a ratio that has been used by visual artists for centuries as an aid to composition. When two things are in the proportion of 1:1.618 (approximately 3/8 to 5/8), they are said to be in the golden mean.

Dividing the parts of an image according to this proportion helps to create a pleasing, balanced composition. The intersection points on a golden mean grid appear at 3/8 in and 3/8 down/up, rather than at 1/3 in and 1/3 down/up on the grid of thirds.

Composition tutorial【15.05.2013】

This week is the tutorial of our second assignment which is composition. I had tried to take picture from campus and from Sunway Pyramid. By using the frame to take picture especially for someone who had a subject method like me will looked weird when taking picture with it. It was because when you are taking picture in front of a subject like me and had a frame in front of it, the people who are shopping in the shopping mall or walking along will look at you when you are taking picture. At last, I have to retake my pictures because some of them are not too good. Besides that, we still have to make a video about the subject method that we take and we have to put 30 pictures in the video.
I will try my best on doing the video that this is my first time doing such assignment.

Composition 【08.05.2013】

Today, we finally have our Principles Of Design class as last wednesday, 1st of May 2013, is a public holiday. It is Labour Day, so I had to stay in my hostel room and no way to go because the shuttle bus in Taylor's did not worked on public holiday.
In the P.O.D class today,our lecturer told us to cut off a frame and use the frame for out new assignment.This frame will be accompany us for about two weeks.After cutting out the frame,Ms. Lisa told us to find out the subject method that we are interest in and took 30 pictures about the subject method.At last i chose socket as my subject method because my parents are the electrical goods supplier in my hometown,Kuching. So I am very familiar with the socket so i choose it as my subject method. I felt very happy that Ms. Lisa had accepted my subject method and I will try my best to shoot more pictures in different angle with the rule of third.

Some of them are wrong but I will try my best to improve my composition and the rule of third and also my photography skills.
