Procedure of my artwork【24.04.2013】

Finally, I had finished my graffiti artwork. I found that it was quite tough on doing an assignment. When I was doing the assignment, I had faced many questions. I had chose graffiti because when I am in my secondary school, I love to design letters. Letters is the basic of word as letters from word. Design letters are interesting, they can be drew in different structure. Besides that, I chose to draw a rose because I love red color, red rose is that flower that I liked. The reason that I designed my name as my artwork is because I think a person name’s is most easy understanding words to represent him or herself. This is my first time doing an assignment and don’t know whether she like it or not, hope she will like it as I really love my artwork. I had spend so much time doing that and I really love to design.

Graffiti Research 【24.04.2013】

This is my first assignment that I done in my university life. This assignment is due for two weeks. At first, we have to do sketches of our self portrait with the art movement we choose. After that, we have to draw it out on a minimum A3 sized surface. Besides that, we also have to do a research about the art movement that chosen by us.

I had done the research through Internet and also from the library. The art movement that had been chosen by me is ‘Graffiti’. Graffiti is a type of writing or drawing that had been scribbled, scratched, or sprayed illicitly on a wall or other surface in a public place. In modern times, paint, particularly spray paint, and markers pens have become the most commonly used graffiti materials. In most countries, spraying or painting on the wall in the public without the owner’s permission is considered as defacement and vandalism, which is a punishable crime.

Banksy is one of the most popular graffiti artists who continue to remain faceless in today society. He is known for his political, anti-war stencil art mainly in Bristol, England. Besides that, Pixnit is another artist who chooses to keep her identity from the general public. Her works focuses on beauty and design aspects for graffiti as opposed to Banksy’s anti-government shock value. Her paintings are often of flower designs above shops and stores. This is my research about graffiti.

My First Artworks In Class【10.04.2013】

On 10^th April 2013, this was the second week of my university life. That day, our lecturer of ‘Principle of Design’ told us to design our very own self portrait and mind map. The self portrait had to be design using elements from the nature or trash and free things. Besides that, the drawings had to be finished within two hours and had to be presented in class. At first, I thought that had to design two artworks within two hours is difficult as in my secondary school, I used to have at least two hours to finish my artwork. It was my first artwork activity in my university life so I felt very nervous and be at a loss. During the presentation, I found that it was quite difficult for me to study in a new environment which used English as the medium of communication because I was from private secondary school where use Chinese as the medium of communication.  

This is my mind map. It’s all about me. Let me introduce myself here. My name is Aderline Tang Kang Yin. I am born in 25^th December 1994. I live in Kuching, Sarawak. My flavor colors are white, black, and red. I like to eat desserts such as ice-cream, chocolate, and lollipop. Sometimes I am quite and sometimes I am crazy. Besides that, I also love to go travelling. I had been to China, Australia, Singapore, and Thailand. There are six members in my family. There are my parents, my sisters, and my brother. 

This is my self-portrait. Does it look like me? It is made by grass and leaves which I collected from the university. I used the leaf to make my spectacles and I cut the leaf to slice to make my hair because I have straight hair.
